Address: SenS Hotel, Jl. Sukma, Tebesaya, Ubud, Petulu, Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571

Note:  Although I was invited, this is an independent restaurant review based on my personal experience.

The Restaurant: Located in the SenS Spa Hotel, Yonne Cafe & Bar offers poolside dining in an elegantly casual atmosphere serving Balinese & Western cuisine. Balinese music plays softly in the background; tables with red serviettes and moss green place mats are scattered throughout the dining room area as well as outside by the pool. One glass wall offers views of the turquoise blue infinity pool while another offers a view of the open kitchen.

The beverage menu offers a generous variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine. Surprisingly, the wine selection is quite nice!  The food menu has everything from a light bite to full course meals. We ordered mango Mojitos which came in tall cool glasses and tasted fabulous.

Dinner:
As per suggested by our competent, friendly server, we ordered the Balinese Set Menu special and a Crispy Duck special.

The Set Menu came with a deliciously coconut creamy Balinese chicken soup as an appetizer followed by crispy duck in Balinese spices served with a white rice cone, bbq spicy prawns, egg balado (hard boiled egg halved & topped with spicy sambal), Balinese lawar, satay lilit, and Balinese spiced shredded chicken with kerupuk crackers.

Everything tasted so wonderfully delectable, layers of flavors playing in my mouth. The set finished with a dessert of sliced fresh fruit topped with lemon sorbet.

My husband had the very traditional Balinese Crispy Duck.  True to the name, the spiced skin was crispy while the inside was juicy – simply delicious.

Breakfast Buffet:
A Fabulous presentation including made to order eggs, coffees including cappuccino, teas, fruits, juices, breads, meats, cheese, waffles, noodles, and more. For the health conscious, there was also a juicing station where you could order a custom glass of goodness!

Lunch:
We started with a Papaya Smoothie for me which was creamy deliciousness in a glass!  My partner ordered a Passion Fruit Mojito which he seemed very pleased with as well.

Until now, I had been eating only Balinese cuisine, so I decided to try the Club Sandwich with French fries & side onion rings.  The sandwich came with a choice beef or pork bacon, avocado, chicken breast, tomato, pickles, egg, and lettuce; it tasted as good as any very good western club.

The onion rings came in a frying basket with side dips, a very nice presentation.

My husband thought it would be worth trying the Rib Eye Steak to see if it could live up to a good Canadian steak.  He was ready to be critical, but was shocked at how good it was.  The steak was cooked to medium rare perfection and was served with a scalloped potato side and broccoli.  I tried a bite of the steak and I had to agree, the steak is absolutely recommendable.

Yonne Cafe & Bar Restaurant is definitely worth a visit or more!  The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is very good and the food is outstanding.
