Royal Dining – Serenity Hotels, Makadi Bay

All Inclusive dining hit in Egypt’s Serenity Makadi Beach Resort. Dining Royal – a review.

Restaurant NameRoyal
AddressSerenity Makadi Beach, 36 Km, Safaga Road, Makadi Bay, Hurghada, Red Sea, Egypt

Note:  This is an independent restaurant review based on my experience.

Dining like royalty in the ambiance of the Rossini dining room.  They have really rolled out the red carpet with this wonderful menu served in elegance.  We had the pleasure of dining here twice; following is my review.

On our arrival, a wonderful gentleman named Ahmed Ibrahim glided over to greet us.  We quickly came to understand that this young man is a driving force behind customer satisfaction at Serenity Makadi Beach hotel – hopefully they recognize that.  He brought us to our table, took our drink orders, and disappeared before promptly reappearing with our drinks.

A bread basket followed, brought by a server in the same unfortunate horrendous green shirt worn by all servers. It is an elegant atmosphere;  curiously candles were notably absent the first time, but beautiful candles were present on our second visit.

Salad
Cesar Salad, Roman lettuce, cesar dressing with your selection chicken or shrimps – although iceberg lettuce was used instead of Romaine, the salad was still very good.  Tossed in a creamy, tangy sauce with a slight anchovy flavour.

Sesame Crust Chicken Fillet served with ginger balsamic dressing – it was dry.  I think they forgot the dressing?

Soup
Mushroom Cream – the first time is was mediocre, but the second time it was delicious.

French Onion  –  delectably delicious.  Unlike the traditional soup, this lighter variation was not topped with bread and cheese. (sorry, for some reason I forgot to take a photo).

Entrée
Herb Crusted Beef Fillet, Golden Pepper Gravy Sauce, Served with Potato Shavings and Mini Ratatouille – I ordered mine medium rare and it was quite simply, excellent. Grilled to perfection, seasoned amazing, nice texture. The plate was dressed with a rich beef gravy and a potato purée. When questioned where the steak came from, we were informed it is Brazilian beef.

Chicken Cordon Blue, served with Vegetable Sautéed and Potato Nature – the tender, crispy cheese filled cutlets were served on top of a sweet mustard sauce and accompanied by cooked vegetables.  Although this dish was good, the steak was the winner.

Dessert
Although this was not our favourite part of the meal, the presentation was lovely.

Opera Tart with Chocolate Sauce

Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream

In conclusion, the Royal restaurant in Serenity Makadi Beach was our favourite à la carte dining experience.  I am certain it is different for everyone, but if you are a steak lover looking for a fix, you must visit!  Again, special thanks to Ahmed Ibrahim for making our visit special.
