Note: This is an independent hotel review based on my experience.
The DDA Hotel was booked through booking.com. Front desk was extremely friendly, and checked us in immediately. We took our keys and went to our room – what a shock greeted us. The room had no windows; for some people, this is not a problem, but for me, it is impossible. Front desk was more than willing to accommodate us with an alternative window view room; I suppose we were lucky it was not fully booked.
The room had a safe, desk, 2 single beds, a night table, a bathroom with separate shower and an a la carte breakfast was included. The location was Ho Chi Minh City perfect – District 1, basically right at the corner of Bui Vien Street, but without the noise at night.
Tip: make sure to ask for a window if you want one
A la carte breakfast was included in our hotel price; there was lots to choose from. I had pho soup almost every day and my husband had fried eggs with a baguette; fruits, juices, coffee, tea and water were self serve. It was tasty, fresh and a great, cheap way to start the day!
The following day we were supposed to fly to Hue, but the weather report was forecasting one week of straight rain. So, we cancelled our plans, went to an agency and made alternative plans to fly to sunny Phu Quoc. The glitch was our flight did not leave for 2 more days, so we headed back to the DDA Hotel where we were greeted with big smiles and open arms and were immediately given a room for 2 more nights. In total, we stayed 5 nights.

– laundry service at a fair price Note: we were told 24 hours for the laundry service, but it took 36 hours – we ran short on clothes! Price: 30.000 dong / €1.15 / USD$1.30 per kilogram.

– Some rooms do not have a window
Cost: 385,000 dong / €14.50 / USD$17 per night
Do I recommend it? Definitely Yes! The location, the price, the service all make the DDA Hotel a winner.
