Baan Siri Hotel

Quietly secluded from the noise of downtown Chiang Rai, but close enough to walk.

Accomodation:  Baan Siri
Address: 34/14 ม.17 สันคอกช้างซอย 5 ถนน สันคอกช้าง รอบเวียง เมือง Chang Wat Chiang Rai 57000, Thailand

Note:  This is an independent restaurant review based on my experience.

Mr. Manat, the Tuk Tuk driver we hired at the bus station on our arrival from Luang Prabang, promptly took us to our hotel Baan Siri. We arrived very tired and in desperate need of a shower, but were firmly told no checkin until 2 pm.?  Not so happily, we deposited our luggage at the front desk, paid for the room and headed out for the short walk to downtown.

When we returned at a little after 2 pm, we were immediately given our keys and luggage.  A bright, clean room with a queen sized bed greeted us.  Although I will never become a fan of wet rooms, the shower felt great!

Baan Siri hotel is a short 10 minute fast walk (20 minute stroll) to downtown.

Negative:
– dark walk / not great for single women
– Asian style shower (shower, sink and toilet all in the same small area, called a wet room)
